While Baaghi 2 continued its good run at the box office in the second weekend, earning Rs20.25 crore.

The first weekend has not been too impressive for director Abhinay Deo’s Blackmail, in terms of the domestic box office earnings. The film, starring Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari and Arunoday Singh earned Rs9.85 crore in its first three days, as per figures shared by boxofficeindia.com.

Blackmail review: Irrfan Khan, Arunoday Singh triumph in this game of blackmail

Blackmail opened to a low number of Rs2.50 crore on Friday. The numbers were better for Saturday and Sunday as the film made Rs3.35 crore and Rs4 crore, respectively.

As per trade sources, Blackmail is made at a cost of Rs19-20 crore. Therefore, a total of Rs9.85 crore, even though a small number in itself, is quite decent. However, it will be a challenge for the film to keep up its performance during the week.

Shoojit Sircar's October, starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu, will be released on Friday (13 April) and might make it difficult for Blackmail to attract footfalls. Dhawan had a terrific run at the box office in 2017 with the success of films like Judwaa 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
