Tiger Shroff starts shooting for Student Of The Year 2

Actor Tiger Shroff has kickstarted the shoot for his next, the sequel to Student Of The Year (2012). The film, directed by Punit Malhotra, commenced shooting today at the St Teresa High School in Dehradun. The makers, Dharma Productions, announced the news by sharing the clapboard of the shoot.

Malhotra is taking over the reigns of the film from Karan Johar, who had directed the first film that launched actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The film was quite popular with the urban youth.

The rest of the cast of the sequel is yet to be announced. Johar took to his Twitter and revealed that other members of the cast would be announced on Wednesday. “The student journey begins again!!!! #SOTY2 ! The announcement of the final cast on Wednesday the 11th!!!! Watch this space....break a leg @punitdmalhotra @iTIGERSHROFF @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18 @foxstarhindi,” he said.  

Shroff is fresh from the success of the Ahmed Khan directorial Baaghi 2. The film, which is the second in the Baaghi series, was released last month and turned out to be an instant success. It became the actor’s first film to cross the Rs100-crore mark at the box office. 

Johar got nostalgic thinking about the first film in the franchise when he had visited his old office yesterday. He shared a picture of it on Twitter and said, "Walked into the old Dharma Productions office in Bandra! Got all nostalgic about the times in this solid space and this is what I saw !  The 3 sparkling students ! While the new ones are going on set tomorrow! SOTY will always be special to me!" 

Student Of The Year 2 will be released on 23 November this year.
