The shooting of Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s upcoming film Konttho, in which Mukherjee also plays the protagonist, was wrapped up today.

Konttho, based on the story of laryngeal cancer survivor Bibhuti Chakraborty, also features Joya Ahsan and Paoli Dam in important roles.

“It is a different feeling today," Mukherjee told Calcutta Times, a supplement of The Times of India newspaper. "Konttho was conceived in the year 2001 and today we could complete a part of it.

"Lot of work is still left now to give it full shape. The whole cast and crew are present at the shoot. From morning we have been shooting at College Street, in a bus and in a bank. After lunch we will be shooting at Jogesh Chandra College.”

The shooting of the film began on 17 March. Roy shared her experience of working with the talented actresses from either side of the border. “Both are outstanding actors," she said. "Each time they deliver a shot, we are left speechless. What I like about Joya is her dedication and diligence. Paoli, on the other hand, is extremely spontaneous. We never know what she will do in front of the camera. We are happy to have them both on board.”

Update, 5 April 2019: The title of the film was spelt Kantho in the earlier version of this report.
