Superstar Salman Khan and his fans will have to wait a few more hours on Saturday after the sessions court in Jodhpur announced that the judgment on the actor's bail plea will be delivered post lunch. Justice Ravindra Joshi heard the actor's plea in the morning, alongwith the prosecution's argument against the bail plea. The judge has now deferred the judgment till 1.30-2pm post lunch.
Khan was convicted on Thursday, and sentenced to five years for hunting and killing two blackbucks in 1998. The actor was then taken into custody, while his legal counsel prepared a bail plea to suspend the sentence to appeal in a higher court.
The day began with heightened anticipation as the news broke that justice Joshi was among 87 other judges from the district courts who had been transferred. However, pending immediate transfer, justice Joshi took on the task of completing the bail plea which began on Friday, 6 April.
Khan has already spent two nights in custody. On acquisition of bail, the actor will have the freedom to return home and appeal against his sentence in a higher court.
The actor was joined by his two sisters, Alvira and Arpita, at the Jodhpur sessions court on Saturday.
