Over the last five or six years, actor Varun Dhawan has acquired the image of an entertainer. With films like Student Of The Year (2012), Main Tera Hero (2013) and Judwaa 2 (2017), he has proved to be more of a hero than a performer who gets into method acting.
But it seems Dhawan has divulged into the method acting arena in Shoojit Sircar’s October. The makers shared a video which aims at introducing his character Danish Walia in October. The video is more like the film’s making or behind-the-scene visuals.
Danish’s character works as a staff in a hotel. His character is required to undergo all types of chores. So, in order to make it look authentic, Dhawan had to actually undertake housekeeping tasks like cleaning, washing clothes, mopping, etc.
Speaking about his experience, Dhawan says, "On the first day itself, I was working as a chef and was then carrying out cleaning, polishing, vacuuming, toilet cleaning, serving. The polishing machine is so heavy that it used to deviate. I have killed mosquitoes too."
Sharing the reason for making the actor undergo such training, Sircar says, "Those who work in the hotel industry need to go through a lot of drill and work in a lot of departments. But if a trainee doesn’t work up-to-the-mark, he is made to carry out the choicest of tasks so that he gets it right and becomes disciplined. That’s why I made Varun go through all the demotions just to teach him how various departments in a hotel industry work."
Also starring Banita Sandhu, October will hit the cinema halls on 13 April.
