Manoj Bajpayee, who played the key role of DIG Ajay Shergill in Baaghi 2, starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, says he is very happy that the film has turned out to be a massive hit.
The box office earnings of the action-thriller as of now stands at a total of Rs84.75 crores, approximately, in domestic collections.
Even as Bajpayee gets ready for his next release, Missing, he is extremely happy that Baaghi 2 director, Ahmed Khan, has finally found success. Khan's previous directorial outings, Fool & Final (2007) and Lakeer (2004), were massive flops. The director had first worked with Bajpayee as a choreographer 20 years back on the 'Sapne Me Milti Hai' song from Satya (1998).
"Sajid Nadiadwala is already a very successful producer. This is one more successful film in his kitty. But the person who needed this the most is Ahmed because his first two films didn't work. So I am very happy for Ahmed that the film is a blockbuster," Bajpayee said, in an interview with Cinestaan.com.
The actor is also all praise for Tiger Shroff's dedication and expressed that the young actor deserves the success he has got.
"I am also very happy for Tiger. He is so devoted when it comes to his skills. He works really hard. I have seen with my eyes that, on set, in between two shots, he is preparing or practising with his trainer. When you see so much devotion in someone, it could be for anything, you feel that this person deserves the success that he is getting," he said, adding, "So I'm very very happy for both of them."
Before the film released, Shroff had mentioned in his interviews that he was heavily banking on Baaghi 2 as his last two films, A Flying Jatt (2016) and Munna Michael (2017) had failed at the box office.
Baaghi 2 has now become Shroff's biggest hit so far and is expected to cross the Rs100 crore mark soon.
