Ashutosh Gowariker does recce for Panipat

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker was spotted doing a recce at an undisclosed location for his upcoming period war film, Panipat.

A few weeks back, the filmmaker had announced Panipat, based on the third battle of Panipat. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted a picture of Gowariker doing recce for Panipat.

Panipat is expected to go on the floors around July-August this year.

The third battle of Panipat was fought between the Marathas and the Afghans. The Afghans were led by Ahmed Shah Abdali, while the Maratha forces were led by Sadashivrao Bhau. Though the Marathas fought valiantly, the Afghans emerged victorious. Dutt is playing the character of Abdali, while Kapoor will play Sadashiv Bhau. Sanon is said to be playing Parvatibai, the second wife of Bhau.

Panipat is will be relesed on 6 December.
