Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might rank alongside some of the more iconic faces to have appeared on the Hindi film screen. But now, the actress is set to play two legendary roles. Rai Bachchan confirmed that she has been approached to be part of the remakes of Woh Kaun Thi? (1964) and Raat Aur Din (1967), to be produced by KriArj Entertainment. The actress is currently shooting for Fanne Khan, also produced by KriArj Entertianment.

DNA newspaper quoted the actress saying, "I’ve been approached for the remake of Raat Aur Din, which is a great opportunity, and what’s funny is while filming Shabd [2005], Sanju sir [Sanjay Dutt] said he’d have loved for me to play the part, and I was very touched. We’re still working out the details. I’ve also been approached for a remake of Woh Kaun Thi?"

While Woh Kaun Thi? remains one of the most popular noir films directed by Raj Khosla, Raat Aur Din was the last film for the late Nargis. The reports of Rai Bachchan's association with the films emerged in March this year. However, the actress has only confirmed being approached and is yet to sign on to the project.

The actress marked a return to the big screen in 2015 with Jazbaa, alongside Irrfan Khan after a hiatus of five years. Currently, she is shooting for Atul Manjrekar's Fanne Khan, where she will be seen alongside Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The film is a remake of the Belgian film, Everybody's Famous! (2000), and is expected to be released on 13 June.
