Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan to make first onscreen appearance together in Yours Truly

2018 might be a special year in the Bhatt family album. Actress Soni Razdan first chose to appear alongside daughter Alia Bhatt in Raazi, and now she is set to share screenspace with her husband, director Mahesh Bhatt. Bhatt is expected to make a special appearance in National Award winning director Sanjoy Nag's film, Yours Truly. 

The Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, reported that the film will be based on Annie Zaidi's short story, The One That Was Announced, from her collection Love Story #1-14. Bhatt has already shot for a sequence in Kolkata. The newspaper quoted the director calling the role "a special special appearance" which appears at a "significant point in the narrative". 

Razdan is already making an appearance in Raazi, where she plays mother to Alia Bhatt's young bride who turns a spy for India. The senior actress had also previously worked under Bhatt's direction in Saaransh (1984). 

This would not be the first time Sanjoy Nag has directed a director. His National award winning film, Memories In March (2010) had Rituparno Ghosh in a pivotal role.
