Nanu Ki Jaanu, starring Abhay Deol and Patralekhaa, has turned out to be a major flop at the box office. The film, directed by Faraz Haider, has earned barely Rs4.50 crore at the box office, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
The negative reviews and virtually no visibility has ensured a low audience turnout for the film.
However, surprisingly, celebrated Iranian director Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds has fared much worse as it made a mere Rs1.60 crore in the entire week. In fact, as it has earned less than half the amount than Nanu Ki Jaanu. Hence, Beyond The Clouds, featuring Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan, has turned out to be a disaster at the box office. This is suprising as the film had received positive critical acclaim.
The Varun Dhawan-starrer October has earned a decent amount of Rs9.75 crore in its second week. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar, had made Rs27.75 crore in its first week. Its grand total now stands at Rs37.50 crore. Considering its budget of Rs35 crore and target niche audience, October has fared well.
However, it is doubtful if October can hold steady with the Avengers looming large this week. The Hollywood superhero film, Avengers: Infinity War, is expected to be the biggest Hollywood grosser in India.
