Tillotoma Shome in Sir

Actress Tillotama Shome will make her maiden appearance at the 71st Cannes Film Festival 2018 with not one, but two films. Actor-director Nandita Das' Manto will be screened in the Un Regard section, while Rohena Gera’s Sir will be screened in the Critics' Week Competition section. Both the films feature Shome in prominent roles.

“It is nerve-racking and overwhelming to know that I will see our film for the first time with some many people, in one of the world's most prestigious film festivals. I have never dreamt of this, so can't even say it is a dream come true. To go to Cannes with our film in competition has made the wait worthwhile and special. So now with two films in the same year it's joy doubled. Utterly wild!,” an elated Shome said in a statement.

Dhanush in The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir (2018)

Actor Dhanush will also be going to Cannes as his Indo-French film The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir will be screened in the Marché du Film section. The Indian poster of the film will be unveiled then.

Directed by Ken Scott, the 'comic adventure' is Dhanush's first international project and will be released in English and French.

The festival will be held from 8 to 19 May 2018.
