The first trailer of the upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding, was released earlier today at a press event and the four lead actresses of the film were all smiles as they spoke of the amazing time they had during filming.

Sonam Kapoor spoke of how there were no awkward vibes, as they already knew each other before filming began.

Kareena Kapoor Khan talked about how the film had seen her through her pregnancy. At one point, there was even talk of making her character Kalindi pregnant, but they realized that it wouldn’t work.

"This was the only script I've read where I said I want to really do it," Kareena said. She was drawn to the language of the film and the entire concept featuring four strong women. The film’s producer, Rhea Kapoor (also Sonam’s younger sister), stood by her choice and waited for Kareena to come back after she had son Taimur in December 2016.

Kareena even suggested that they hire another actress. “It was Rhea’s conviction and she was like, let’s just wait,” Kareena explained. “All of them have been so supportive towards me, for actually waiting, and after that, it’s Saif [Ali Khan] who pushed me and said, ‘You should hit the gym and get back to the studio and take your son with you, and set an example to a lot of mothers that it is possible, that you can do it.’”

Both, Talsania and Bhasker said they were big fans of Kareena and were glad they got the opportunity to act with her in the film.

The actresses joked and laughed at their inside jokes during the event and few hints to Sonam’s possible upcoming nuptials were mentioned. Food was a big topic of discussion on set, according to them.

Sonam thanked ‘Bebo’ (Kareena’s nickname) for agreeing to be a part of the film and stressed why the film was so unique. “It is a story about friendships, and I don’t think a film like this has been made before. It’s entertaining, it’s fun, it’s got romance, dance, drama, everything! Why can’t women headline a commercial film about girls which says something?,” she reiterated.

Kareena and Sonam addressed the double standards of questioning with regards to their personal life that they have to face. “Shahid Kapoor got married, did anyone ask is he going to work or not? You have someone like Kareena Kapoor who has gone straight to set after her wedding,” Sonam said.

Bhasker insisted that questions about why more films on female bonding aren’t made need to be redirected to male and female producers instead. “This is the first time there is a film about four girls being friends and not falling in love with the same guy,” she said, asking the audience for a round of applause.

Sonam even said that “Kareena Kapoor is my favourite hero to work with. It’s the easiest thing to work with female co-stars. People expect women to pull other women down. What's amazing is that all work towards the same goal, making the best version of something. If everybody bands together and we can literally rule the world."

Kareena, who had promised to do at least one or two films this year after Veere Di Wedding releases, agreed with Sonam on having to work with male co-stars. “This was very special. I wanted to work with Sonam, Swara and Shikha and feel like a team player,” she concluded.
