Stop spreading wrong information, Vishal tells media

Actor Vishal has trashed media reports that have been doing the rounds that his eagerly awaited film, Irumbu Thirai, with Samantha Akkineni, will hit the screens on 11 May.

The actor, in a statement, said, "It is my duty to inform the media that there has been a miscommunication regarding the release date of Irumbu Thirai. 

"May 11 is not the release date. Due to lack of communication and misunderstanding with the buyers, the date has been announced without the knowledge of Vishal Film Factory [the producer] and hence I want to clear the confusion regarding the same. 

"We will announce the release date as per the regulations of the Tamil Nadu Producers' Council releasing committee. Until further notification, kindly request the media to refrain from spreading the incorrect release date."

Earlier in the day, several media houses reported that the film would be released on 11 May. The film, directed by PS Mithran, has Yuvan Shankar Raja as its music director. It also features action king Arjun in an important role.
