Box office: Nanu Ki Jaanu, Beyond The Clouds perform poorly in first weekend

While Nanu Ki Jaanu earned Rs2.95 crore nett, Beyond The Clouds settled with only Rs1.05 crore nett.

Friday (20 April) saw two films hit the big screens — Faraz Haider's Nanu Ki Jaanu and Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds. Both films  have had a disastrous opening weekend.

While the former earned a total of Rs2.95 crore nett, the latter made only a sum of Rs1.05 crore nett, as reported by boxofficeindia.com.

Nanu Ki Jaanu opened with Rs70 lakhs nett on Friday and made Rs1 crore nett and Rs1.25 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Starring Abhay Deol, the film is made at an estimated budget of Rs10 crore and released across 750 screens in India.

Iranian director Majidi’s maiden Hindi film Beyond The Clouds is made at an estimated budget of Rs18 crore and is said to have released in across 500-700 screens.

The film could not recover from its disastrous opening on Friday with just Rs25 lakh nett, and earned Rs40 lakh and Rs50 lakh on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

With big ticket Hollywood movie Avengers: Infinity War due to be released next week, the path for Naanu Ki Jaanu and Beyond The Clouds looks decided.
