Richa Chadha turns into Parveen Babi for Sudhir Mishra's Daas Dev

Actress Richa Chadha has always been one for experimentation. The actress has often dressed down to suit the earthy rooted characters. In the upcoming Sudhir Mishra film, Daas Dev, Chadha has stepped up for a change. The actress's latest pictures see her dressed in a golden dress that carries reminders of late actress Parveen Babi's turn in the Bappi Lahiri song 'Jawani Jaaneman' from Namak Halaal (1982). 

Chadha recently shot for a promotional video song for the film, Daasdev, where she was seen experimenting with her looks which look very much like the modernized version of Babi's hit song from the 1980s. It remains a popular hit and even the look continues to be an iconic reminder of the disco era.

Over the years, Babi's look inspired many other actresses, but Chadha's look in this promotional video song has a different take elevating it to the modernized version. Speaking about the video, she said, "My look happened by accident. When I wore the gold outfit, someone on set said 'You look exactly like Parveen Babi.' It just felt like it was meant to be as Parveen Babi was one of the biggest actresses and style icons of her time." 

Daas Dev is directed by Mishra and also stars, Aditi Rao Hydari and Rahul Bhat. The film will be released on 27 April.
