Also starring Disha Patani, the film opened to a huge number of Rs25 crore on Friday, which was a national holiday on account of Good Friday. The Saturday figure was a little less at Rs20.50 crore.

Baaghi 2 review: Welcome to the Tiger Shroff stunt show

On Sunday, Baaghi 2 crossed the Friday numbers by earning as much as Rs27.50 crore. There was a good amount of buzz for the film before it was released. But few would have expected the film to earn so well in the first three days.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat had made Rs75.05 crore in its first weekend, which is marginally higher than Baaghi 2. However, Padmaavat had released on a Wednesday for paid previews. Hence, the film got a five-day long weekend. So, in that sense, Baaghi 2 has performed much better in the first weekend.

As per trade sources, Baaghi 2 is made at a budget of Rs60-70 crore. If the film passes the Monday test, it stands a chance of becoming a blockbuster.
