Bengali film director Raj Chakraborty released the first look of his upcoming film Katmundu To Combodia, the second instalment of his Katmundu (2015) series, on Sunday. The film is also going to be the director’s first venture with Subhasree Ganguly since their marriage in March this year.

The poster features a suitcase with an animated number 2 on it, suggesting a trip to somewhere. Much like the first part, the film will focus on the escapades of the character played by Rudranil Ghosh. In the film, Ghosh seems to be obsessed with Netaji Subhaschandra Bose. As he becomes aware of the existence of a diary of Netaji in Cambodia, he leaves for the foreign land, without informing anyone.

His two friends soon come to know about his departure and in order to trace him, they follow him to the destination. Thereafter, the adventures escalate and two female cops played by Ganguly and Tanusree Chakraborty get involved with them.

The director has made many changes in the cast for the new film. Apart from Soham Chakraborty and Ghosh, who will be part of the second instalment too, Jisshu Sengupta and Kharaj Mukherjee and Tanusree, will play significant roles in the film.

Though Katmundu (2015) reaped commercial success, Abir Chatterjee, reportedly, refused to be part of the comedy sequel. According to Ananda Bazar Patrika, Sengupta, who has not yet signed for the film, will step into Chatterjee's role.

The director’s decision to replace Mimi Chakraborty (who appeared in the 2015 film) with Subhasree, has generated a lot of rumours echoing the past strenuous relationship between Mimi and director Raj.

However, the director dismissed all the speculation, saying, “I wouldn’t have cast Subhasree in the film if she did not seem fit for the role. Subha was initially not ready to accept the role and did not want to work at this time either. We are happy that we could finally convince her and the producer seems to be happy with my choice too.”

The film will mostly be shot in several locations in Cambodia.
