Riddhi Sen, the 19-year-old Bengali actor who recently won a National Film Award of Best Actor for the film, Nagarkirtan, will soon be seen in Pradeep Sarkar's Hindi film, Eela.
The talented actor will play Kajol's son in the film. Kajol plays an aspiring singer and single mother in this partly auto-biographical film on mother-son relationship.

Written by Anand Gandhi, it is an adaptation of his Gujarati play Beta, Kaagdo, which is very close to Gandhi's heart. "I had written Beta Kaagdo 15 years ago and it is inspired, in part, by my mother's life and her eccentricities. My mother has been my muse for the story," Gandhi said in an interview to The Times Of India.
After the announcement of the National Film Awards, Kajol had taken to Twitter to wish her onscreen son. "My virtual son from Eela wins a National Award for his Bengali film Nagarkirtan. Awesomesauce Riddhi Sen!"
Sen confesses that his Eela director was the first person he called after winning the National Award. “Dada was really happy and Kajol ma’am even arranged for a cake for me on the set to celebrate my National Award win,” he says.

The film's producer Ajay Devgn is especially fond of Sen. He had cast the youngster in his production, Parched in 2016.
Sen has previously starred in the international film, Lion (2016) and Hindi films like Kahaani (2012) and Bhoomi (2017).
