Tritiyo Adhyay poster: All is not well in this love story

While most of the poster is black and white, it has red in all the significant places, depicting both love and blood.

Manoj Michigan released the poster of his upcoming film Tritiyo Adhyay, starring Abir Chatterjee and Paoli Dam.

Chatterjee and Dam, will be seen together on the big screen after five years since their last film Bedroom (2012), directed by Mainak Bhaumik.

The makers have played with colours in the poster. While most of the image is black and white, it has red in all the significant places, depicting both love and blood.

The poster has two hands; one of a man trying to profess love holding a rose, while the other, of a woman, is trying to reach out to him. The man's wrist has his love interest Shreya’s name written in blood and the woman's hand has a scar.

However, the background of the poster is in contrast with this situation. It has a couple facing each other, on what looks like a cliff, with the man holding a gun at the woman.

Michigan’s romantic thriller has been mostly shot in Deoghar, made famous by yesteryear Bengali writers who used it in their stories as a place to visit if one is ill.

Deoghar still has a strong connection with Bengal. Many of the old dilapidated houses, where people would reside on a temporary basis, still exist. So do the old sweet shops.

According to the director, the place plays an important role in the film. The two protagonists Kaushik (Chatterjee) and Shreya (Dam) are childhood lovers who lose contact with each other.

Years later, Kaushik, now a sports teacher, meets Shreya, an established botanist. The plot delves into the background of their separation, reunion and future possibilities.

Chatterjee, who worked with Michigan in his critically acclaimed film Aami Joy Chatterjee (2018), said, “It is not just any mushy love story but the audience will receive the flavour of a different kind in this film. Needless to say, audiences will find me in a different kind of look and character. The script is exciting and I am looking forward to how the audience will react.”
