Actress Priyanka Chopra's confirmation as the lead opposite Salman Khan in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat was received with joy among her fans. The actress has spent a major part of the last two years in the United States working on her television series, Quantico. No wonder that Khan decided to rib the actress by reminding her that she has signed on for a 'Hindi' film.
Welcoming the actress through his Twitter post, Khan wrote '#Bharat .. welcomes u back home @priyankachopra . See u soon ...' before adding an aside 'By the way humari film Hindi hai ;)'

Chopra's last appearance in a Hindi film was in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal (2016). Since then, the actress has focussed on interantional projects. In 2017, she made her debut in the big-budget movie version of the series, Baywatch, alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Her television series, Quantico, has since gone into its third season.
While there were rumours of the actress being interested in several projects, including one by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, there were no announcements. Zafar's Bharat will mark the return of the actress to Hindi cinema in a role alongside her God Tussi Great Ho (2008) co-star.
Without losing a beat, Chopra answered back in her tweet remarking that she was brought up in UP-Bareilly and will always be 'a desi girl'..
UP Bareilly à¤Âà¥Â पलà¥Â बड़à¥Â हà¥Âà¤Â à¤Âनाब.... #DesiGirl forever.
