Priyanka Bose has carved a niche for herself in unconventional cinema. The actress was appreciated for her role in the Oscar-nominated Lion (2016). She will now be seen in director Samit Kakkad’s dark and explicit drama Ascharya F**k It.
The film's trailer came as a shock to audiences because of its explicit content. It showed Bose playing a prostitute and using foul language.
Talking about how the director helped her to prepare for the character, Bose said in an official statement, “This role has been a demanding one. In order to understand my character, I kept reading the script many times besides having creative discussions with my director which helped me to pull it off.”
Bose's look in the film is also the result of much discussion within the team. “To get the right look for my character, we underwent 16 hours of trial-and-error before finalizing the look,” she said.
Ascharya F**k It is inspired by the works of celebrated author and playwright Sa'adat Hasan Manto. The official statement said the film "revolves around an unlikely love story where desire and greed intertwine the lives of a Bollywood star, his chauffeur, a prostitute and her pimp".
Produced by Yoodlee Films, Ascharya Fuck It also stars Marathi film star Santosh Juvekar with Vipin Sharma and Vaibhav Raaj Gupta.
