Nanu Ki Jaanu song: Abhay Deol's invisible love in 'Tujhe Dekhti Hai Nazar' a pleasant, but ordinary melody

Actor Abhay Deol's turn as a gangster in love with a ghost might be another one of his quirky projects, but the latest song from the film is quite pleasing. Titled 'Tujhe Dekhti Hai Nazar', the composition by Gunwant Sen is sung by Mohammed Irfan.
The song captures the emotions of Deol's character, Anand, who is in love with the ghost played by Patralekhaa. As the two romance through the streets of Delhi, and the sights of the town, the music flows. While the rest of the world views only Anand walking and talking to himself, he finds the company of Jaanu to be the only soothing thing in his life. The song also captures the unrequited nature of this love and the complexity it involves.
The composition by Sen is quite melodious, but has a familiar tone to it. The sound mixing, while not extraordinary, does enough to build a romantic atmosphere. Mohammed Irfan delivers a fairly decent vocal addition to the song. However, the music fails to make an impact on the listener on the first hearing.
Nanu Ki Jaanu is directed by Faraz Haider, and is set to be released on 20 April.
