Actor Salman Khan, who was convicted by a Jodhpur trial court in the 1998 blackbucks poaching case earlier this month, has been given permission by the Jodhpur sessions court to fly abroad, as reported by news agency ANI.

The actor had filed a plea seeking permission to travel abroad for work. Khan has been permitted to travel from 25 May to 10 July. The actor, who began shooting for his next film Bharat, will be travelling to Nepal, Canada and USA between this period.
Khan was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison. The actor was given bail after spending two nights in jail.
The court had set 7 May as the next date of hearing after the public prosecutor, representing the Bishnoi community, had moved court to object against the bail given to the actor.
Khan was the only one convicted in the case, while his co-actors from Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999) — Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari and Saif Ali Khan — were acquitted.
