October review: An intimate, emotional journey

The grand total of the film so far is Rs21.50 crore. The collection is much lower than the business of Dhawan's previous films. October is an experimental film aimed at a niche audience. Taking this into consideration, the numbers seem good.

As per trade sources, the film is made at a budget around Rs35 crore. So, it will need to hold well in the remaining weekdays and in the second week to breakeven. A number of films are lined up for release this week. But none of them are big, which could work in October’s favour.

October is inspired from a personal incident, says director Shoojit Sircar
