Naseeruddin Shah's obsession with copy machine drives quirky family drama, Hope Aur Hum

Films about idiosyncratic characters are getting quite popular over the years. Actor Naseeruddin Shah will next be seen in Sudip Bandyopadhyay's Hope Aur Hum. The film revolves around the story of a quirky family that struggles to cope with a man's obsession with an antique copying machine.

Shah plays Nagesh Shrivastava, who is obsessed with his traditional copying machine he lovingly calls Mr Sonecken. The film will also star Sonali Kulkarni, Navin Kasturia and Aamir Bashir in key roles.

Hope Aur Hum will mark the feature film debut of Bandyopadhyay, an ad director. The film is a sweet tale of human emotions woven around the struggle between the older and younger generations. While Nagesh refuses to change with the times, the younger generation of his family struggles to come to terms with his obsession.

The film is produced by Thumbnail Pictures, and will be presented by PVR Pictures. Hope Aur Hum will be released in theatres on 11 May.
