Box office: October finishes weekend with Rs19 crore

While Tiger Shroff's action entertainer ended with Rs150 crore, Shoojit Sircar's slow burning love story managed a slow start, but showed improvement at the counters. 

Shoojit Sircar's romantic drama, October, managed to earn Rs19 crore nett over the weekend, according to Boxofficeindia.com. The film started slowly at the box office when it was released on Friday (13 April), but continued to build over Saturday (14 April) and Sunday (15 April).

October review: An intimate, emotional journey

October earned Rs4.50 crore on Friday, but added Rs7 crore on Saturday, and Rs7.5 crore on Sunday to the collection.

While the nett total of Rs19 crore is still low in comparison to other Varun Dhawan vehicles, the upward trend of the collections and the positive reviews for the film spell good tidings.

Meanwhile, Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2 continued its rampant run crossing Rs150 crore on its third weekend. The film managed to earn Rs6.75 crore over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, adding to its tally of Rs143.31 crore earned in its first two weeks.

With the next weekend crowded with new films like Daas Dev, Omerta, Nanu Ki Jaanu, Beyond The Clouds and High Jack, it looks like October might face some competition in the coming days.
