Punjabi singer Parmish Varma shot in Mohali, shooter confesses on Facebook


While the singer is now out of danger, the shooter, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, has warned he won't be saved the next time.

In a shocking incident, Punjabi singer Parmish Verma and his friend were shot in Mohali, Punjab by unknown assailants while they were returning home late last night. The two were rushed to a hospital and are reportedly out of danger.

“Some unidentified persons fired shots at Parmish last night at Sector 91 in Mohali when he was returning home. A bullet hit his leg,” said Kuldeep Chahal, senior superintendent of Police, Mohali, told NDTV, a television news channel. 

In a surprising developement, a man named Dilpreet Singh Dhahan has claimed responsibility of the shooting by boasting about it on his Facebook page. Dhahan confessed to shooting the singer and even shared a collage of Verma and himself. The picture has Dhahan holding a gun, while Verma's image has been crossed with a red marker. 

The post, written in Punjabi, roughly translates to: “I, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, wish to tell all of you that I have shot Parmish Verma today... Be grateful that you are saved today, but next time you won’t.” 

Verma shot to fame with his song ‘Gal Ni Kadni.’ His recent single ‘Shada’ also became a hit and has received more than 25 million hits on YouTube in four months.
