We are overjoyed, it’s a special moment: Boney, Janhvi, Khushi on Sridevi’s National Award win

The actress was conferred with the award for her performance in her last film Mom (2017).

Producer Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi are overwhelmed to know that Sridevi has been honoured with the National Award for Best Actress for her last film, Mom (2017). The three of them gave an emotional reaction after hearing the news. 

In an official statement, they said, “We are overjoyed to know that the jury has conferred the Best Actor Award to Sridevi for her performance in Mom. It’s a very special moment for all of us.”

Remembering her qualities, they said, “She was always a perfectionist and it showed in all the 300-plus films she did. She was not just a Super Actor but a Super Wife and a Super Mom. It's time to celebrate her life and her achievements. She is not with us today but her legacy will always live on [sic].”

They thanked the government for bestowing the honour. “We thank the Government of India, the Hon’ble Jury Members for this honour. We also take this opportunity to thank all our friends, her fans who have been sending us congratulatory messages,” they said. 

Directed by debutant Ravi Udyawar, the film also starred Akshaye Khanna, Sajal Aly, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Adnan Siddiqui. It told the story of a mother who takes revenge for her daughter’s rape.
