Actor Rishi Kapoor has turned singer for the first time in his 45-year long career. The veteran actor has gone behind the microphone for a song in his upcoming film, 102 Not Out, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan. The song in question will see both actors crooning for it.

As per an official press release by the makers, on the last day of the shoot, the team thought of including a song in the film that would be sung by both actors. Bachchan not only agreed but also volunteered to compose it. But when director Umesh Shukla approached Kapoor, he was hesitant but decided to rehearse a few times.

The result turned out to be such that it was okayed in the first take itself. Talking about the experience, Shukla said, “When Rishiji came to the recording studio, he did the first rehearsal and after the first rehearsal itself he was himself surprised to discover his singing talent. We did not have to do many retakes as his first time was perfect.”

Bachchan recorded his part of the song recently and happily posted the recording video of the same. The two stars will be seen on screen together in this film for the first time after 27 years. Their last appearance together was in Ajooba (1991).

102 Not Out will be released on 4 May.
