Ranveer Singh's popularity is never in question, but the actor's songs seem to be making a wave in the most unlikely of locations - the National Basketball Association (NBA). One of the most popular leagues of basketball in the world, the NBA witnessed a performance of Singh's songs 'Malhari' from Bajirao Mastani (2015) and 'Khalibali' from Padmaavat (2017) at a game.
The song was performed at the halftime of the game between Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks last week. Choreographed by the group, Exodus Artistry, the video managed to travel through social media and ended up being liked by Ranveer Singh as well.
Putting up the video on their Facebook page, the group wrote 'About last weekend. Our company and students took over the Halftime Show in front of 18,000+ people! Thank you Philadelphia 76ers for having us and giving us the opportunity to showcase Indian culture & dance. Stay tuned for the video!'
Incidentally, this is not the first time an Indian film song was performed at the NBA. A couple of months back, another song from Padmaavat 'Ghoomar', was performed during halftime at the Charlotte Hornets game.
As for Ranveer Singh, the actor is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy alongside Alia Bhatt. The actor also has 83 by Kabir Khan, to look forward to later in the year.
