Cycle trailer: Prakash Kunte’s robbery drama promises a warm, rural tale of attachment

Starring Hrishikesh Joshi, Priyadarshan Jadhav and Bhau Kadam, the film also appears impressive on the technical front.

The two teasers of Marathi film Cycle released previously have given enough information about the film. With the trailer just out, the audience eagerness for director Prakash Kunte’s film only increases.

Fifth generation thieves Gajya (Priyadarshan Jadhav) and Mangya (Bhau Kadam) arrive in Bhugaon village in Maharashtra and rob the yellow-coloured cycle belonging to Keshav (Hrishikesh Joshi). The thieves are unaware of Keshav's emotional attachment to the bicycle which is a part of his ancestral property. Gajya and Mangya, on the other hand, keep reaping benefits after stealing the cycle. Will they ever return the bicycle to Keshav?

Going by the trailer, Cycle doesn’t appear to be a heist film, although it is one. It’s more of a light-hearted and funny drama. The film appears to be impressive on the technical front too. The mellow, yet attractive background score plays a big role in creating the desired impact of a warm, rural story with lots of heart. Some fine camerawork is also on display in the trailer itself.

Kunte’s last Marathi film was Hampi (2017), which also boasted of great visuals.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Cycle will hit the theatres on 4 May.
