While the team of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) had a party some days ago to celebrate the film reaching the Rs100 crore box-office nett collection mark, the romantic comedy actually did so only in week seven, according to boxofficeindia.com.
According to the website, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety made Rs30 lakh nett in the first five days of the seventh week to take its all-India collection to Rs100.23 crore nett.
The film, made on a budget, including prints and advertising, of Rs40 crore was released on 23 February across more than 1500 screens, and can safely be called a hit.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has become the third Hindi film this year to reach the three-figure mark in nett box-office collections. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial historical epic Padmaavat has made Rs280 crore nett so far while Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 has so far made Rs137.61 crore nett.
For lead stars Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh Nijjar and Nushrat Bharucha as well as for director Luv Ranjan, this is a maiden entry into the Rs100 crore club.
