Priya Prakash Varrier's Oru Adaar Love to be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

Reportedly the filmmakers are trying to 'cash in on Varrier’s popularity' by releasing the film in multiple languages.

It looks like going viral on the internet does have its advantages. Since the clip from her upcoming film, Oru Adaar Love, went viral, Priya Prakash Varrier has become an internet sensation.

With her name now a recognised currency across the country, the makers of her film seem to be jumping onto the bandwagon. The film, directed by Omar Lulu, is now set to be released in multiple lanuages.

While initially scheduled to hit the screens only in Malayalam, the film will now be available in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Newsminute.com reported that the filmmakers sought to 'cash in on Varrier’s popularity' by releasing the film in multiple languages.

Since going viral, the film itself has come under the flak of extremists. Last week, two men from Hyderabad filed a petition in court alleging that the infamous 'wink' in the film hurt Muslim sentiments.

"Winking itself is forbidden in Islam and in a case where the act of winking is superimposed with a sacred song, written in the praise of Prophet Mohammed and his first wife...the same act becomes an act of blasphemy," the men alleged.

In February 2018, another group of men from the Jamia Nizamia, one of the oldest Islamic seminaries, had issued a fatwa against the artistes and the makers of the film, and demanded the song to be removed.

Oru Adaar Love is now set to hit the screens on 15 June.
