Director Raj Kumar Gupta came back to form with Raid (2018). As the Ajay Devgn-starrer is closing in on Rs100-crore at the domestic box office, Gupta is said to have commenced work on his next.

Tentatively titled Most Wanted, Gupta has signed Arjun Kapoor as his lead actor, as reported by Mumbai Mirror. The film is said to be a true story of a covert operation that took place between 2014-2106. Kapoor is said to be a playing an intelligence officer in the film. Most Wanted will be produced by Fox Star Studios.

Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying, "A couple of weeks ago, Raj Kumar finalised Arjun Kapoor to play an intelligence officer and the hero of this do-or-die covert operation. The two have had a couple of narrations and long telephonic conversations about the project recently.”

Kapoor is said to have commited to the project, but is currently working out the dates. Kapoor has three films up his sleeve — Vipul Shah’s Namastey England, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat, and the Hindi remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017).

A source closely associated with the film confirmed to us that Kapoor had indeed signed for the Gupta film. "Kapoor has been locked for the film, the only thing that is to be worked out is the dates as he has some prior commitments," said the source.

Kapoor and Gupta were earlier set to work on the adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller Revolution 2020, but that project failed to get going.

Kapoor is currently filming for Namastey England.
