Pankaj Tripathi might owe his fame to the world of cinema, but theatre remains close to the actor's heart.
Recently, the National School of Drama (NSD) graduate was invited to his alma mater as chief guest to the International Theatre Olympics 2018.
The actor joined Adil Hussain and Divya Dutta on stage on the final day of the students' youth forum, Advitiya 2018.
The International Theatre Olympics was hosted in New Delhi, and follows a long tradition of theatre. The festival, an initiative of Greek director Theodoros Terzopoulos, was first hosted in Delphi, Greece, in 1993.
The event presents some of the greatest theatre practitioners from around the world, providing a platform for theatrical exchange and a gathering place for students and masters where a dialogue, despite ideological, cultural and language differences, is encouraged.
The initiative is undertaken to emphasize the importance of connecting the past, the present and the future in a bid to bring the world closer.
The Masaan (2015) actor, with Adil Hussain, was invited to witness the students at NSD who staged some wonderful performances on the theme of ‘The Flag of Friendship’.
Tripathi, who won the Best Actor award at the Cape Town International Film Market for Mango Dreams (2017), will next be seen as the main antagonist in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30, marking his second collaboration with the Kaabil (2017) actor.
