From its first teaser, 102 Not Out revolved around the story of two veterans trying to regenerate their youth. With Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor leading to the film, it offers a quirky return to one of the hottest pairs of the 1970s. The latest song from the film, 'Bachche Ki Jaan Loge Kya', is a peppy dance number that makes it very hard for the listener not to tap their feet along.
102 Not Out trailer: Merry Amitabh Bachchan, grumpy Rishi Kapoor drive this whimsical story
Composed by Salim-Sulaiman, the song is sung by Arijit Singh and features the two oldies in prime form. The song takes off from the situation in the trailer where Amitabh Bachchan's 102-year-old Dattatraya Vakharia asks his son, Babulal (Rishi Kapoor) to write a love letter. That is enough to drive Babulal into a frenzy. As the entire drama unfolds, the song expresses the angst in Babulal's heart.
The song is an entirely different aspect altogether. Salim-Sulaiman have created a fun, peppy number that carries a young, yet retro feel to it. The addition of jazzy elements like saxophones, trumpets, and trombone make this composition worth listen to. Singer Singh brings to the vocals a dashing style that is very different from his usual somber poetic notes. Hiral Brahmbhatt's lyrics flow with the rhythm to add to the entire experience.
The touch of Latino style music with hits of jazz makes this song a perfect number to dance on.
102 Not Out is directed by Umesh Shukla, and will be released on 4 May.
