Blackmail (2018), starring actors Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari and Arunoday Singh, hasn’t quite passed the difficult Monday test at the Indian box office. The film, directed by Abhinay Deo, earned only Rs1.35 crore yesterday, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
Blackmail review: Irrfan Khan, Arunoday Singh triumph in this game of blackmail
Blackmail’s opening day number was a low Rs2.50 crore. There was some growth in the next two days as the film made Rs3.35 crore and Rs4 crore, respectively. But with such numbers, it is difficult to sustain on the weekdays and that is exactly what has happened in the case of Blackmail.
The film’s grand total right now is Rs11.20 crore. As per trade experts, the film is made at a budget of Rs19-20 crore. With such a total right now and the fact that Varun Dhawan-starrer October will be released on Friday, Blackmail doesn’t stand much of a chance. Although October isn’t a film with mass appeal, the presence of Dhawan could bring in the crowds.
Actor Tiger Shroff-starrer Baaghi 2 continued its good run even on its second Monday yesterday by amassing Rs3.50 crore. The film, directed by Ahmed Khan, has earned Rs134.36 crore nett so far. The film has made an impressive Rs23.50 crore in the four days of its second week.
