Officer teaser: Nagarjuna promises plenty of punches in this good cop-bad cop battle

Ram Gopal Varma shot to fame with the Akkineni Nagarjuna-starrer Telugu film Shiva (1989). A year later, the success of the Telugu film saw Varma make the film in Hindi too which became a bigger hit.

Varma last directed Nagarjuna in the 1993 Telugu film Govinda Govinda. 25 years later, Varma and the actor have reunited for an action thriller titled Officer.

Based on the recently released teaser, Officer comes across as a good cop-bad cop tale, one that is set not in Hyderabad but in Mumbai.

The officer (Nagarjuna) has been sent to Mumbai to crack the case of another cop, Narayan Pasari. What crime has Pasari committed? What is the good cop chasing?

Well, Varma keeps a nice suspense. Nagarjuna's character has a daughter, who perhaps is caught in the fire. Based on the visual, we presume Myra Sareen is playing a cop too.

The teaser stands out for its action, the pacy visuals, and the riveting background score. Nagarjuna carries a middle-aged look but is fit as a fiddle when it comes to action.

Officer is set to be released on 25 May.
