Not too long ago he was the biggest star on television, however, Kapil Sharma is now going through professional and personal crisis. He has reportedly checked into an ayurvedic healthcare centre in Bangalore.

Sharma’s alleged alcoholism, arrogance and cancellation of shoots has riled big stars, who were left waiting on the sets. These episodes have taken a toll on his career with Sony Entertainment recently announcing that The Kapil Show is taking a break. All through the various negativity surrounding him, Sharma has maintained a stoic silence.

The struggling TV star has finally opened up on his messy life and ridiculed some nasty rumours.

Sharma said it was a mutual decision to take a break as he now looks to address his frail health.

“I am currently in Bangalore undergoing ayurvedic treatment. I needed to repair my body to make a great and healthy comeback. I am hoping to be back in Mumbai by September-end. Most of what has been written about me lately is rubbish. I have been working for the last 10 years without a break and I needed medical help to combat anxiety, blood pressure and sugar problems and correct an unbalanced diet. I thought it was best to take a break before another problem cropped up that I couldn’t control. After ignoring my health all these years, I am focussing on it now,” Sharma told MumbaiMirror.com.

Sharma reiterated it was he who had requested the channel to take a break and that he has vowed to return after regaining his health.

“I have a wonderful relationship with the Sony team. Another channel would have put insane pressure on me to carry on, but the Sony bosses never issued any threats. I could not afford to cancel another episode so I called them and requested that I wanted to take a break. They readily agreed. They have been really supportive. I will complete my medical course and start promoting my film before returning to the show. I have no plans of leaving Sony,” added Sharma.

From riling fellow TV show comedians to making big stars from Hindi cinema wait and eventually not turn up, Sharma’s been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. However, the comedian has rubbished all such reports.

“People have been dragging his name into controversies for no reason and I’m embarrassed. Am I a fool to jeopardise my biggest source of income by making Shah Rukh Khan wait? Those who’re calling me arrogant and egoistic don’t know how nice Shah Rukh has been to me, how much love and respect I have for him. I don’t wish to make anybody wait, be it a superstar or not. I’m genuinely unwell and I don’t have the energy to keep sending out denials," Sharma said.

Apart from Khan, Sharma had reportedly kept Vidya Balan and the Begum Jaan (2017) team waiting. Most recently, the team of Baadshaho (2017) was left disappointed after he didn't turn up for the shoot. Ajay Devgn had later issued a statement that he didn’t storm out of the The Kapil Sharma show sets, but added that he is not sure whether he would like to visit the show again.

Once he regains his health, Sharma will begin the promotions for his home production Firangi. The actor had made an unsuccessful debut with Abbas-Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015).
