LIFFT India Awards: Marathi film Lathe Joshi adjudged Best Feature

The LIFFT (Literature Illusion Film Frame Television & Theatre) India Awards have just been announced.

The awards are part of the LIFFT India Awards & Filmotsav in Lonavala which ended today.

Mangesh Joshi’s Marathi movie Lathe Joshi has been judged the Best Festure Film while Govind Nihalani’s Ti Ani Itar and Sunaina Bhatnagar’s Dear Maya shared the Jury award. Joshi also won the award for Best Director.

The Ismail Merchant award for Best Producer went to Pragati Kolage for her Marathi film Palyadwasi. Harjit Singh’s Punjabi film Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe was given the Best Biopic Film award. 

Ti Ani Itar

The trophy for Best Debutant Director went to Spanish filmmaker William Gonzalez for his film, She The Sergeant Matacho. The award for Best Actor also went to Spain, Ricardo Herrera bagging the honour for the film Shining Moon. The Best Actress award went to the Bengali artiste Jaya Seal for the film Alifa.

Pankaj Tripathi, who has been receiving accolades for his work in the recently released Bareilly Ki Barfi, won the trophy for Best Supporting Actor, Male, for Mango Dreams. The Best Supporting Actor, Female, award went to Ashwini Giri for Lathe Joshi.

Best Ensemble cast: Mukesh Chhabra for Parched

Bes Child Actor, Male: Sandeep Kothari for Pinti Ka Sabun

Best Child Actor, Female: Gun Mihani for Mum

Best Short Film Actor, Male: Atul Kulkarni for Azaad

Best Short Film Actor, Female: Delphine Theodare for A Whole World For A Little World 

Best Cinematography: Russell Carpenter for Parched 

Best Art Director: Partho Majumdar for Maya Mridanga

Best Editor: Sean Barton for Feast Of Varanasi 

Best Sound: Ceaser Salzar for She The Sergeant Matacho

Best Music: Suvendu Maity, Partho Sengupta, Avijit Basu and Anirban Roy 

Best Costume: Ashima Belapurkar for Parched

Best Short Film: Elabogodo The Lawyer by Ignacio F Rodo 

Best Student Film: #Help by Peter Engelman 

Best Children’s Film: Pinti Ka Sabun by Pramod Pathak 

Best Documentary: Sadegh Jafari for Weavers Of Imagination
