A film and character like Simran comes at an opportune time in Kangana Ranaut's life. As she deals with her long-drawn out personal and legal battle with Hrithik Roshan, Ranaut does away with her vulnerabilities and brings out the daring Simran.

Simran makers have released the 'Single Rehne De' track, in which she pleads to be left alone in an entertaining rap-like song.

Simran is a divorcee wanting to break free from her monotonous life. Ranaut is playing a Gujarati character, and lyricist Vayu has penned a joyful 'let me be' single plea: 'Single rehne de, mane single rehne de, pappa mane single rehne tane dhokla dilao, mane single rehne, tane chai bhi pilao mujhe dil se kehne de'.

The lyrics are quite funny, and backed by peppy pop tunes of Sachin-Jigar. Here’s a track that will light up pubs and discos as it has vibes that have you tapping your feet.

Singer Shalmali Kholgade's voice reflects the soul of Simran. The Maharashtrian girl is impeccable throughout the track. She does well as she sings the intro with a Gujarati accent. Kholgade seems to be simply enjoying herself. Therein lies the success of the track. Divya Kumar has played the perfect foil.

The singers, musicians, lyricists have done their part, but the song is a delight to watch for the madness that Ranaut brings to it. The actress is totally immersed into her character. More importantly, in this song, she is thriving as Simran. Her expressions, blonde look, her inhibited free style, some weird dance moves will make you chuckle. The vibe of the track makes you groove. In a nutshell, ‘Single Rehne De’ is the perfect anthem for all bachelors and spinsters.

Simran is set to be released on 15 September.
