Divya Dutta, Atul Kulkarni share pictures from sets of Malala biopic Gul Makai

The first poster of the biopic on Malala Yousafzai titled Gul Makai was released earlier this month. The film, directed by Amjad Khan, stars Reem Shaikh, Divya Dutta and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles.

Divya Dutta posted a few pictures from the first day of shoot early on Friday, 29 September.

The actress captioned the tweet with, "And in the world of #malala."

Gul Makai, produced by Anand Kumar, will see Atul Kulkarni in the role of Malala's father, while Dutta is speculated to play the mother of Nobel laureate.

The film was announced early last year, with some portions already shot in Bhuj and Mumbai.

Gul Makai will follow the journey of Malala, from her early days as a student in Pakistan to her infamous run-in with the Taliban, and her crusade to spread education in the Swat Valley of Pakistan.

While the shooting for the film has begun, its release date has not been announced yet.
