Aamir Khan has quite a few films on his graph that might qualify to be epics, but the actor has suggested that his dream project is the adaptation of the epic Mahabharata.
Speaking at an event in Vadodara to promote his upcoming Secret Superstar, the actor admitted to harbouring dreams of making a film on the famous long poem, but says is also afraid of it.
Speaking at the event, Khan said, "My dream project is to make the Mahabharata but I’m afraid of starting the project as I know it will consume at least 15-20 years of my life." Going further, the actor revealed that his pick of characters from the epic would be Karna.

The Thugs of Hindostan actor said, "My favourite character is Karna, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to play him due to my physique. I may just have to play Krishna. I also liked the character of Arjun. He was the only person who asked Krishna why he had to kill his own people." The actor even suggested that he would be interested in collaborating with actors like Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth and Pawan Kalyan if the opportunity arises.

The actor is not the first to suggest making a film on the Mahabharata. Post the success of Baahubali (2015), director SS Rajamouli had suggested that he would be open to the idea of adapting the epic. However, he recently denied reports that he is planning to make a film on the Mahabharata.
Currently, the actor is shooting for Vijay Krishna Acharya's Thugs of Hindostan, and also has Secret Superstar lined up for release in the Diwali weekend this year.
