The trailer of Atanu Mukherjee's Rukh, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Kumud Mishra, Smita Tambe and Adarsh Gourav in the lead has already generated some interest about the film. A sensitive tale about a boy who loses his father and is struggling to uncover the mystery behind it. The first song from the film captures the emotion of a closed mind, and the need to break free.
Sung by Mohan Kannan, and composed by Amit Trivedi, the song is a wonderful, lifting track that captures the need to break free from the troubles of life. The singer's deep baritone lends the composition a gravitas and composure that is refreshing.
Trivedi turns to soft rock influences to add to the uniqueness of his composition. While the video of the song does not feature as a part of the film, it certainly delves into the theme of Atanu Mukherjee's story. The lyrics written by Sidhant Mago, while not great, are lyrical enough to lift the listener's mood.
Produced by Drishyam Films, the film is set to be released on 27 October.
