Irrfan Khan's acclaimed Doob: No Bed of Roses will finally find a release in Bangladesh. The India-Bangladesh co-production has already made waves at international festivals, after premiering at the Shanghai International Film Festival earlier this year. The film won the Kommersant Weekend Prize at the Moscow International Festival in July.
The trailer for the film, directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, was released yesterday. It features Irrfan Khan playing the complex writer who struggles to understand love and life. The actor is joined by actresses Parno Mittra and Nusrat Imrose Tisha in the film.
The trailer begins with the death of Irrfan's character, and the rights to his home and life being fought over by his past and present loves. As the narration in the trailer describes, the character is a curious artist whose curiousity often comes at the cost of love, and relationships.
Farooki's film is reportedly based on the Bangladeshi writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed.
Khan also has the Hollywood film Puzzle alongside Kelly Macdonald to release later this year. Doob: No Bed of Roses is set to be released in Bangladesh on 27 October.
