The trailer does not bode well for director Howard Rosemeyer's road trip drama, which seems to be lacking appeal.

From being clueless about the status of their film, the actors of Jia Aur Jia will be pleased that their long delayed film will finally get a theatrical release on 27 October. The trailer of the film was released today. Unfortunately, the trailer is anything but impressive. Actor-choreographer Howard Rosemeyer makes his directorial debut with the road trip that stars Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha in the leading roles.
Both are named Jia and they bump into each other on a trip to Sweden. The duo instantly gel. While one Jia (Koechlin) is an unabashed, bubbly girl, the other (Chadha) is more reserved. As we see in the trailer Jia (Koechlin) tells Jia (Chadha), “We are getting you a life baby”.
Their bond only grows stronger, but Jia (Chadha) is carrying an emotional baggage of her fallen business empire. While the girls let down their hair, there is a past that continues to torment them.
Rosemeyer has delivered an unconvincing, tacky trailer that just doesn’t have any intrigue to it. Both Koechlin and Chadha appear to be trying too hard too pull off their roles. The one desi gentleman in the trailer, Arslan, does not do much to convince the film either. Much of the action in the trailer appears to be a forced effort and is unlikely to inspire confidence in the film.
However, a bad trailer does not necessarily result in a bad film. Hopefully, the film has a lot more spunk than the trailer shows.
