What’s common between Anubhav Sinha and Ashutosh Rana? They both began their careers with television. Sinha directed Rana on the popular show Shikast. Twenty-four years later, the duo are set to collaborate on their first film as Rana has joined the cast of Mulk.
“My experience with Anubhav with Shikast was phenomenal," Rana said in a statement. "He is a great director and technician. I have full faith and trust in his sensibility and vision. I have always liked shooting in Lucknow because the temperament of the city is very different."
"Ashutosh and I go back to a time when television dominated the entertainment industry," said Sinha. "He is an incredible actor and brings great credibility and maturity to the cast."
The film is set to go on the floors soon and will be shot across Lucknow and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is said to revolve around a joint family which is embroiled in a controversy and is out to regain its 'honour'.
Apart from Rana, the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Prateik Babbar, Rishi Kapoor and Rajat Kapoor.
