The Shree Rajput Karni Sena, which vandalised the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati in Jaipur and Kolhapur on two different occasions, has come under fire due to a sting operation conducted by a television news channel.
India Today has claimed that one of the Karni Sena activists demanded Rs1.5 crore to protect the sets of a fictitious film that the undercover reporter said would depict the romance between a Mughal emperor and the wife of a Rajput general.
The network tweeted a few videos, but none of them give a clear idea about what transpired during the sting operation.
While the visuals are clear, there is no sound. The channel claimed that their reporter met Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in Jaipur and later one Umed Singh, organisational convenor of the group, in Mumbai.

The anchor promises to show the actual sting, but it is not seen in these videos and we couldn't find the footage on their official website.
The India Today report quoted Singh as saying: "Some people from outside will barge in. They'll create some trouble. The sets will not be burned down. Two to four people will be beaten up. Vandalism will be recorded."
"If you want 50 people for a month to protect (the sets), they (filmmakers) will then have to pay Rs1.5 crore," the report added.
India Today also claims that Singh even hinted at future attacks on Bhansali's upcoming film, Padmavati.
Reacting to the video, Gogamedi ridiculed the channel claiming that the video is doctored. He also posted a video threatening the channel with dire consequences.
In the video, Gogamedi claimed that somebody from the TV network had approached them to seek 50 of their members to protect the sets for a film on Aurangzeb committing atrocities on Hindus.
“There was never any mention of Padmavati. This sting is done to defame me. I will be filing a case against Aaj Tak (sic). I urge the network to show the question that your sting operation guy asked me. He asked about making a film on Aurangzeb and not Padmavati,” said Gogamedi.
Last week, when the posters of Padmavati were released, Rajput Karni Sena had also protested by burning the posters in Jaipur. In the posters, the look of Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini or Padmavati was revealed.
Also starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, Padmavati is set to be released on 1 December.
