Rights of Vikram Vedha for Hindi remake not sold, says production house

The producers of the hit film, Vikram Vedha, which features actors Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan in the lead and which was directed by Pushkar and Gayathri, have clarified that they have not sold the remake rights of the film to anybody.

Their clarification comes in the wake of a section of the media claiming that Red Chillies, the firm of Shah Rukh Khan, was in talks with Y NOT Studios for the Hindi remake rights of the film. The reports had gone to the extent of claiming that Shah Rukh had been finalised to play one of the lead characters in the film's Hindi remake. 

However, with YNOT Studios's clarification, it becomes evident that Shah Rukh has not been roped in for the Hindi remake.

The production house Y NOT Studios, which is owned by Producer Sashikanth, said, "We have not sold the remake rights of Vikram Vedha in any language. We have plans of producing it ourselves. Official announcement soon. Thanks."

The film, which has done exceedingly well both in terms of box office collections and appreciation from the critics, has just completed 50 days in theatres -- a rare accomplishment under the present circumstances prevailing in the film industry.
