Milind Dhaimade's Tu Hai Mera Sunday tells the story of a group of friends looking for a place to play their Sunday game of football. The first song of the film, sung by Arijit Singh, was released today.
Written by director Dhaimade, and composed by Amartya Raut, the song captures the daily struggle of residents in the city of Mumbai to find some space of their own. The song travels with the group of five friends as they search for a new place to have their daily Sunday football match. As they traverse through the urban jungle of Mumbai, they are accompanied by millions of people facing the same struggle in their efforts to find some place for their love, joy, and freedom.
Sung by Arijit Singh, the song is a nice, emotional ballad that fits aptly with the theme of the film. Singh's voice continues to have the emotional hold and manages to deliver the right impact. However, there is not much to delve into in terms of lyricality for the song. The composition by Amartya Raut is also quite impressive.
Tu Hai Mera Sunday will be released on 6 October.
